Estimated time

Estimated time

We estimated that the time that we will take would be one hour filming and one and a half hours editing. We believe that the filming shouldn't take too long because we are positive on what we're shooting, and the editing is a harder task to complete because it is too precise.

Agenda

Agenda 1

Time: 11:15
Location: T2
Called by: Jazmin Chevannes

Attended:

1. Alex Crowcombe
2.Yusuf Yusufoglu
3.Jazmin Chevannes.

Agenda: Deciding on what storyboard to use.

What we discussed:

-Yusuf brought up the issue of who's storyboard we should use and we decided to use parts of all of them. (15 minutes)

-I then brought up the subject of what parts we would then use, we then decided we'd share it evenly. (10 minutes)

What we wanted to achieve: Obtain a well planned storyboard

What we achieved: we divised a storyboard each, of the same.

Agenda 2

Time: 01:15
Location: T2
Called by: Jazmin Chevannes

Attended:

1.Alex Crowcombe
2.Jazmin Chevannes
3.Yusuf Yusufoglu

Agenda: To decide what our script will contain.

Jazmin did inform us that she didn't know what to put in the script, but we then decided upon it. (20 minutes)

I brought up the dilemma of how we'd distinguish our own work from one another, Yusuf had the colour coded idea. (5 minutes)

What we wan't to achieve: to pick the right script for us

What we achieved: We had 3 ideas each and we represented who wrote which part with colour           coordination

Equipment and Materials

Equipment and Materials

Equipment- We would need to use recording equipment to film capture the footage we need, a tri-pod to obtain smooth and steady shots and a source to edit the footage from.

We will be using a high definition 'Canon Legria' camera  to obtain high quality shots. This is useful because it spares no detail in our footage.

The tri-pods that we will be using are huge and the legs are made out of metal so it would be hard to break and will remain steady.

We're going to use a mac mini's iMovie programme to edit the footage, it is really precise with how we can cancel sound and crop clips.

Materials- We will have the material on the camera until we have finished editing to ensure we have the clips that we need. Until we have finished editing, it shall stay on the cameras memory stick as backup for if we lose it before its uploaded to the blog.

Contingency Plans

These are the solutions to viable dilemmas:
Weather will only effect our audio as we are inside, but we can remove audio on the certain parts that are noisy.

Absence of one of our group members is a simple problem to fix, we will simply carry on with what we have to do and the member who is missing can continue the work when they get back. If that member knows what they are doing they may be able to work from home.

If someone was to break a part of the equipment we would have to replace it for the time being and continue the production, if we were able to fix the piece of equipment, that will be useful because we won't be taking up anyone else's filming time. Payment would have to be taken into consideration after the production.

Estimations of the costs

I estimate that our product will cost around £60 because of the unique design and the specific materials used to create this drawer. A HD camera would cost around £120 and the tripod would cost roughly £30, the mac mini would cost £520.The cost of the production would be free as the school has supplied us with the certified equipment to help complete the task.

Working practices.

Clothing- The production crew will have to wear tighter clothing so that there aren't any pieces of clothing  loose to catch the equipment and potentially break them.

Wires- We will have to make sure that we keep all the wires in a safe place and make sure that the production team are aware of the hazards.

Health and Safety Report- We have established that there is not any hazards where we will actually be shooting, there is only a few machines on display on the other side of the room that do not affect us.

The person directing the camera is normally being directed by the director, this person will decide the shots to be used in the production, there is then an assistant there normally to log the shots, they will indicate the start and end time codes of the shots, this then goes off to the editing studio after the visual is recorded normally for reference with sound elements within the piece and will normally come in handy when cohering between shots for two way dialogue.

Whilst in the recording process the crew will have to be aware of the sounds that are created, if one of the crew were to leaving half way through recording the sound will be corrupted with unwanted noises, light is also a factor that could sabotage the filming process if you are filming in the daytime in a dark environment, the luxurious solution to this is a red 'recording' light outside the recording vicinity, or near the open space that is being recorded as unknowing crew members will realise will know whether or not the camera is recording. Alternate solutions may be as simple as having a crew member outside the recording vicinity, or perhaps informing every single person not to disturb the area in use.

We liaised with the head of media and the head of sixth form media about factors such as; booking times for editing, booking equipment and booking filming space. Whenever we experienced a problem such as not having the appropriate time needed to edit, we would consult either one of the media teachers.

We did not use a clapper board as we thought that the visual was not long enough to have much use of it and also because we were logging shots. We found it a tiny bit of a struggle finding what takes to use whilst editing the final piece and discovered that using a clapper will in fact help even if the piece is short.

Script

Visuals

Start out with a faded close-up of the desk, and then slowly zooming outwards revealing the product and pausing for a brief second to let us get a clear shot of the product.
Then there will have a smooth tracking shot going up to the right slowly and then again just to the left.

We will fade to white and we will then have Alex and Yusuf talking about the product and how it is amazing etc.

Then Alex is shown happy with his product that he has purchased. Yusuf would then walk past shaking his head.
Audio

Alex: “It’s a very unique and creative design”.
